CROSS COUNTRY
My legs spin round and round I keep on staring at the
ground.
I turn to the side to talk to Maia I think I can feel
my heart on fire.
I get a glimpse of the finish line I hope I didn’t take
too much time.
I go to Sheryll to get my place, there’s so many sand-flies
on my face.
I feel really good about my placing, I don’t want to
do anymore racing.
I can see my dad looking for me, I really hope he
bought the car keys.
I hop in the car and drive away, I think why couldn’t
we have cross country another day.
